Just a Darn Minute!

Filed under: Journal writing — freethepen @ 1:53 pm

The Alarm Clock Icon “Just a darn minute,” she said. — Okay, now get your pen read and set your clock for 20 minutes. Write as fast as you can and don’t stop until the alarm goes off. Do not stop to think or the creative process will be stifled. Don’t control your mind. Let it control you pen.  Allow the statement, “Just a darn minute,” be the opening sentence. Let your imagination run wild. If you want to make this a memoir piece, then start with a time you said, “Just a darn minute,” or had it said to you. This could also be a statement you overheard in a coffeehouse, backyard, playground, office, city bus, anywhere. Fact or fiction, let your pen say it all.

Keep the pen moving,

Jan
